Program Overview
Wrap-Around Services
Our comprehensive case management services expand capacity and reach to provide the social and emotional support that students and their families need to overcome the life challenges that can inhibit academic success. Each embedded program includes an onsite case manager who supervises and administers wrap-around services. Research-based Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs), Trauma Informed Practices, and Social Emotional Learning (SEL) preparation is essential for case managers. Student and family engagement are integral components of our programs.
Blended Learning Environment
We specialize in re-engaging students who’ve disconnected from traditional learning environments and who require new ways of learning. With a laptop for every student, the hands-on, online format is interactive, motivating, and engaging. 24/7 access allows students to complete work independently, beyond the classroom setting.
Student Engagement Model
The Student Engagement model is a hands-on, classroom laboratory requirement that helps students adapt to an online learning model. Our classroom laboratory-based facilitators (teachers), classroom laboratory peer tutors, and graduation coaches provide the one-on-one support that will motivate students to learn.
Comprehensive Course Catalog
Our comprehensive catalog of more than 70 core courses covers mathematics, language arts, social studies, and science. Students earn a diploma after completing 180 semester credits and can graduate in as little as 9 months.
Credit Transferability
Students can transfer in and receive credit for completed core classes. This transferability feature allows students to earn their diplomas as quickly as possible.
Skills-Based, Career-Focused Curriculum
Students can also earn career certification with their high school diploma, providing opportunities to build 21st-century, workplace readiness skills. Students will graduate with the real-world skills they need to apply for jobs and enter the workforce. With access to webinars that focus on key areas of job and career preparation, students will develop problem-solving, communication, and critical-thinking skills.
Onsite Learning Lab
Our programs can be facilitated entirely online or with onsite learning labs that provide access to computers, resources, and teaching support. The onsite learning lab is comprehensive and all-inclusive with certified teachers, academic coaches, and onsite facilitators for individualized academic support.
Virtual and Weekend Computer Camps
Our Computer Camps are designed to introduce and reinforce basic technology skills to promote independent virtual learning, school attendance, and graduation probability. Laptops, printers, computer accessories, and other learning materials are shipped directly to students or delivered using our drive-thru pick-up model. Students will learn how to set up and use a computer, connect a printer and external devices, internet safety and privacy, Microsoft® Office, and more.
Proven Track Record of Success
Our numbers speak volumes. On average, 84% of our students graduate, with an average 3.21 student GPA. Our average attendance participation rate is 74%, including 35% female student participants and 65% male student participants. 71% of graduates who were surveyed answered “strongly agree” when asked if our multi-tiered support services played a significant role in earning a diploma.
Attendance Funding Recovery
We provide worry-free, no-risk solutions to school districts that are struggling with low graduation rates, with no net cost for implementation. School districts have the potential to recapture attendance funding dollars for students who have dropped out and re-enrolled in Diploma Access Academy. By re-engaging students who are likely to drop out, recapturing students who have separated, and improving attendance, the program is potentially cost-free.
AdvancED/SACS Accreditation
High school diplomas are awarded through an exclusive partnership with Smart Horizons Career Online Education, fully accredited as an online school district by the AdvancED Accreditation Commission. AdvancED provides nationally recognized accreditation for school districts and individual schools and represents 27,000 public and private schools and districts across the United States and in 65 countries worldwide, educating 15 million students.
